Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma will create history as the first-ever chief minister of Assam to be awarded the ‘Lee Kuan Yew Exchange Fellowship.’

The Government of India is set to launch Vishwakarma Yojana at 70 locations across India on September 17. The scheme was announced during the Prime Minister’s Independence Day speech and is aimed at benefiting skilled individuals in traditional craftsmanship. Over the next five years, the program will allocate an expenditure of 13,000 crores.

Karnataka government launches Gruha Lakshmi scheme, which aims to provide assistance of ₹2,000 every month to women head of families in the State.

The scheme was launched by Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi. This is said to be India’s largest money transfer scheme. Around 1.08 crore beneficiaries have been identified for the scheme.

The Asia Cup 2023 tournament kicked off across four venues in Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The 16th edition of Asia Cup is all set to start on August 30 and will end on September 17.

A total of six teams will be participating. The teams have been divided into two groups and are playing against each other in round-robin style.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi handed over the ceremonial gavel to Brazil’s President Luiz Inacio Lula Da Silva, initiating the process of transition of the President’s Chair for the next round of the G-20 in Brazil.

Brazil officially will take over the mantle of the presidency on December 1 this year. Modi also proposed a virtual session of the G20 around the end of November to take stock of the suggestions and decisions made at the leaders’ summit.
