1st Indo-French Knowledge Summit at New Delhi

The first edition of the Indo-French Knowledge Summit for university, scientific and technology cooperation was recently held in New Delhi.The two days summit was organized by the French Embassy in India to providecommon platform for increasing student mobility, enlarging R&D collaboration and link campuses to companies by focusing on employability.

Multilateral Air Force exercise “Samvedna” will be held from March 12 to 17, 2018. Air Forces of Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, UAE and Myanmar will participate in the exercise.

Google Maps’ voice navigation added 6 new Indian languages.

The Google added “Voice Navigation” in six more languages: Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam .Google Maps launched two more India-focused features voice navigation in six new local languages and smart address search.Google advised people not to include personal details or names while adding an address.


Bidya Devi Bhandari  Re-elected Nepal’s president

Bidya Devi Bhandari was on Tuesday re-elected the President of Nepal with an overwhelming majority.She was the candidate of the ruling Left Alliance and was supported by two major Madhesi parties.She defeated Kumari Laxmi Rai of the Nepali Congress, the main opposition party, by securing a majority of more than two-thirds.


Tuberculosis  Free India Campaign  by Govt

Indian PM, Narendra Modi inaugurated a campaign to eliminate TB from India by 2025, 5 years in advance than the globally decided last line on March 13th, 2018. The campaign was inaugurated following the launching of the Delhi End TB Summit, which is being co-organised by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, WHO South East Asia Regional Office and Stop TB Partnership. The aim for eliminating the terminal disease in India has been marked for 2025, 5 years in advance of the global aim of 2030.

The new National Strategic Plan will accept a multiple approach that targets to spot all tuberculosis patients with an importance on reaching tuberculosis patients looking for care from private service providers and under- diagnosed tuberculosis in high-risk residents.
