APSC CCE (Prelim) Exam - Preparation

Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) regularly conducts the Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) for the selection of Assam Civil Services (ACS), Assam Police Service (APS), ALRS, Income Tax Superintendent/Inspector, Labour Inspector, Excise Inspector etc.

The Government of Assam has amended the Assam Public Services Combined Competitive Examination Rules, 1989 vide Govt. of Assam Notification dated 5th August, 2019, thereby changing the syllabus and restructuring the exam patterns/schemes of APSC CCE 2022 & 2020. 

As per the new schemes of Assam Public Services Combined Competitive Examination (Amendment) Rules, 2019:

Preliminary Examination

The examination consists of two papers of two hours duration each. The questions are of multiple choice objective types:

2. Schemes and Subjects for the Preliminary Examination:  The Preliminary Examination (Objective Type) shall consist of two papers:

Paper Subject Marks Duration
Paper-I General Studies I 200 2 hours
Paper-II General Studies II 200 2 hours

Total – 400 Marks

The total qualifying marks of Paper-I (General Studies I) of the Combined Competitive (Preliminary) Examination may be determined by the Commission.

Paper 1 : General Studies I shall be set in such a way that 30% to 35% of questions shall compulsorily relate to Assam.
