Haryana become the First State to Launch High-Risk Pregnancy portal

Haryana has become the first state in the country to launch High-Risk Pregnancy (HRP) Portal. It not only helps in early identification of high-risk pregnant cases up to the grass-roots level but also ensures their timely referral to the civil hospitals for further management and delivery by specialists.

It is designed to track every high-risk pregnant woman till 42 days after delivery.

India’s second FTII to be set up in Arunachal Pradesh

Minister of State (I/C) of the Ministry of Development of NE Region Jitendra Singh announced that Arunachal Pradesh get its first Film and Television Institute, being set up by the Union Government. This would be the second such one in the country.

The first Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) is in Pune.


A.R Rahman appointed as Brand Ambassador of Sikkim

India’s first organic state, Sikkim, looks to boost tourism with AR Rahman on board. Music composer A.R Rahman became the brand ambassador of Sikkim. The declaration was made by Sikkim CM Pawan Kumar Chamling.

Rahman’s name will be declared at the inauguration of the 11-day Sikkim Red Panda Winter Carnival at the Palzor Stadium in Gangtok.


‘Khelo India’ Logo- Launched by Sports Minister 

The Khelo India logo, reflecting the freshness, agility and vitality of New India was launched at a ceremony by the Union Minister of State ( I/C) Youth Affairs and Sports Rajyavardhan Rathore in New Delhi.The logo is showing an impression of fitness and competitiveness.

The three-stroke Khelo India logo, designed by Ogilvy India, has in-built modularity, allowing plenty of adaptability and flexibility into endless pictorial forms.

Satyakam Phukan’s Legacy of King Narak wins award at International Film Fest 

Dr Phukan has been selected for the second best award for his direction of the documentary the Legacy of King Narak at the December 2017 edition of the 12 Months Film Festival (#12MFF). The film has been produced under the banner of Dr Phukan’s ‘Ri-Mita Bolsabi’.

Earlier, Dr Phukan’s Garbage Bin Meals had won the second best documentary award for the month of May 2017 in the same festival held at Cluj-Napoca, Romania, and the award for the best documentary in the Omichka International Film Festival held in December 2017, Omsk, Russia.


PM Modi Inaugurates 1st PIO Parliamentary Conference in Delhi

PM Narendra Modi inaugurates the first Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) Parliamentary Conference in Delhi on the occasion of Pravasi Bharatiya Divas. It is celebrated every year to mark the contribution of the overseas Indian community in the development of India.This year a special regional Pravasi Bharatiya Divas to commemorate 25 years of partnership between India and the Association of South East Asian Nations Submit (ASEAN) is being held in Singapore.


‘Pratyush’ – India’s 1st Multi-Petaflop Supercomputer Dedicated to Nation

Union Minister of Earth Sciences Dr Harsh Vardhan dedicated India’s fastest and first multi-petaflops supercomputer named ‘Pratyush’ to the nation in Pune. It is established at the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology, Pune.

It will be a national facility for improving weather and climate forecasts and services under the umbrella of the Ministry of Earth Sciences.

Point2Remember – The fastest supercomputer is the Sunway TaihuLight, in China, with a LINPACK benchmark score of 93 PFLOPS. (as of November 2017)
